Molly McGuigan is a motivated and creative storyteller with diverse experience in journalism, corporate communications, media, design, writing, and editing.

Molly is currently an Assistant Editor at Us Weekly where she contributes to both print and digital content. She previously wrote for Her Campus, the #1 media site for college women, from 2019-2023. Serving as President and Editor-in-Chief of UConn’s Her Campus chapter her senior year, she helped the chapter achieve Elite-level status (top 5% internationally) based on growth, traffic, and other success markers. She writes about entertainment, politics, and current events, with a passion for representation and social issues guiding her interests.

Molly developed expertise in copywriting, public relations, and corporate communications as an intern with a Fortune-15 health insurance company for two summers. She also expanded her communications skills through roles with the UConn Honors Program and the UConn School of Engineering Professional Development office.

Molly graduated as an Honors student, earning University Honors Laureate at UConn along with Dean’s List and Babbidge Scholar distinctions. Her award-winning thesis, entitled “Beyond the Bechdel: Representation of Women in Popular and Critically Acclaimed Films” is an in-depth content analysis that focuses on the portrayal of underrepresented groups in film. She is the recipient of the Martin Horn Communication Scholarship Award as a result of her excellence in the field of communication.

Molly is a leader, pop culture aficionado, dog lover, feminist, UConn basketball superfan, reader, activist, artist, and film buff. But above all else, she is a storyteller, seeking to change the world one word at a time.
